Description
Although, at a glance, this appears to be one of the least involved paintings I have rendered; this representation carries the most sentiment. In the spring of 2005, while temporarily residing with my father, who was fighting a battle with Leukemia, he and I would sit outdoors by poolside each morning and talk about things of little importance to the world, but great significance to us. As we continued our daily routine, a beautiful Robin visited us each day.
My father, who has always been partial towards our state bird, made it a habit to bring food for our fine-feathered friend. He also gave him the name Robbie Robin and would give his impression of a bird whistle, as the Robin would approach within an incredibly short distance. I set-up my easel early one morning in anticipation and was not disappointed. Dad whistled and I painted. Each time I see one of these tawny colored creatures I will revisit those fond memories.
